Stereoviews mean that they are 2 photographs side by side, taken which a special camera with two lenses. The distance between the lenses is usually about 3 inches, which is also the distance between our eyes. When you look at a stereoview through a special viewer (stereoscope) your brain reconstructs the original scene, in 3 dimensions.
